Meghan Markle makes preemptive move against big tech company

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's statement can save them a lot of trouble

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have faced brutal trolling on social media since they got married in 2018.

The younger son of King Charles recently raised the issue once again during his speech at an event in New York.

The couple was quick to react when social media company Meta Platforms (META.O) scrapped its US fact-checking program and reduced curbs on discussions around contentious topics.

"It doesn’t matter whether your views are left, right or somewhere in between—the latest news from Meta about changes to their policies directly undermines free speech," said a statement issued by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan's direct criticism on the company has apparently saved her from the level of trolling she was supposed  to be subject of after her return to the Instagram, a company also owned by Meta.

The three posts hitherto shared by Meghan on Instagram have been spared the brutal trolling she is often subjected to.

It appears that she has preempted future  online attacks against her on Meta-owned social media websites by issuing a statement against their recent announcement.

Only one of her posts gives away the names of Oprah Winfrey, Blake Lively and Zoe Saldana. Her followers are unable to see the names of other prominent names who are following the Duchess.

Her last post about the death of her dog, did not show even a single Like and Comment.

On the other hand, Kate Middleton and Prince William hide little from their followers. It's clearly visible in the list of their followers that they are followed by the likes of Shakira, Jennifer Garner and Many other celebrities on their Instagram account, "The Prince and Princess of Wales".
