Afghan Taliban deputy head of mission summoned by Pakistan after Bannu Cantt attack


ISLAMABAD – Pakistani authorities summoned Afghan Taliban deputy head of mission to register its strong protest over Bannu Cantonment attack in which eight soldiers were martyred.

Foreign Ministry summoned Taliban’s representative and demanded that they take action against militant groups based in Afghanistan that have attacked a Pakistani military base.

The attack was claimed by Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, which is reportedly operating from Afghan soil.

Pakistan repeatedly raised concerns about cross-border attacks and has urged the Taliban to investigate and take action against the perpetrators. Pakistan has also conducted military operations inside Afghanistan to target militant groups, which the Taliban has denied
