Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has directed the immediate initiation of the Road to Makkah project at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport following its successful launch in Islamabad.

In light of this directive, a two-member Saudi delegation conducted a comprehensive inspection of Jinnah International Airport on Sunday, accompanied by the Saudi Consulate General as per the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

According to federal government officials, the Road to Makkah project aims to streamline immigration and other essential processes for Hajj pilgrims from across Sindh, including Karachi.

This initiative will ensure that pilgrims are cleared at Jinnah International Airport and then transported directly to their accommodations without the need for extensive immigration procedures at Jeddah Airport or Madinah Airport.

During their visit, the Saudi delegation received a briefing from the acting airport manager and inspected the airport lounges in preparation for the project's launch at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport.

Meetings were held with various authorities including the Airport Security Force (ASF), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Customs officials, and CAA representatives. Additionally, discussions with the technical team were conducted to finalize the processing requirements and procedures for the Saudi delegation.

The implementation of Saudi immigration facilities for Hajj pilgrims at Karachi Airport is expected to be finalized within the coming days.
