Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of its international flight services from Skardu Airport after a temporary suspension during the winter months due to harsh weather conditions in the area.
As per a spokesperson for the national carrier, PIA will commence two weekly flights from Skardu to Dubai, UAE, starting from April 29. It's worth noting that PIA had previously initiated international flight operations from Skardu to Dubai in August 2023.
PIA officials have stated that these flights will play a significant role in promoting international tourism, trekking, and expeditions in the Baltistan Region. Furthermore, they anticipate that these flights will contribute to the enhancement of international tourism, trade, cultural exchange, and diplomatic relations between various countries and Pakistan.
