The decision of the Sunni Unity Council to make Omar Ayub the leader of the opposition
The Sunni Unity Council has finalized the name of Omar Ayub for the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.
According to the sources, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to make Umar Ayub the leader of the opposition. Umar Ayub was also the nominated candidate of Sunni Etihad Council for the post of Prime Minister.
The sources also say that the appointment of Umar Ayub as the opposition leader has also been approved by PTI founder Imran Khan.
It should be noted that for the election of the Prime Minister yesterday, there was a contest between PML-N and People's Party candidate Shehbaz Sharif and Sunni Ittehad Council's Omar Ayub. Shahbaz Sharif got 201 votes while Umar Ayub got only 92 votes.
Thus, Shahbaz Sharif was elected as the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the second time.
