Protest, vandalism case: Imran Khan, Asad Umar, Faisal Javed acquitted
Former Chairman PTI Imran Khan, Asad Umar, Faisal Javed and others were acquitted in the vandalism case.
A case related to protest and vandalism was heard in Sessions Court Islamabad today. The court held that separate acquittal petitions were filed on behalf of the accused, after which the Judicial Magistrate issued a decision accepting the acquittal petitions.
According to Sessions Court Islamabad, the accused cannot be punished in the case, further trial of the case is a waste of time.
While pronouncing the verdict, the court accepted the acquittal pleas of former PTI founder Imran Khan and Asad Umar. The acquittal plea of Raja Khurram Shehzad Nawaz was also approved.
The court also accepted the acquittal pleas of Abid Hussain and Zaheer Khan. The verdict said that Asad Umar, Ali Nawaz Awan and Faisal Javed are on bail, they can withdraw the bonds.
It may be noted that a case was registered against the accused in Islamabad on May 26, 2022 in Tarnool police station.
