Enforced disappearance should be punishable by death, Islamabad High Court, summons caretaker prime minister

In the case of Baloch students, the Islamabad High Court summoned the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar in his personal capacity.

The case of Baloch students was heard in the Islamabad High Court under the chairmanship of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani. On this occasion, the court directed the caretaker prime minister to appear in person in the court at 10 am on Monday.

During the hearing, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said that the caretaker prime minister should tell why a case should not be filed against him. It is a pity that I did not call the two DIGs.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked that the punishment for enforced disappearance should be death penalty. Those involved in enforced disappearance should be sentenced to death twice.

The Islamabad High Court also rejected the request to adjourn the hearing of the case.
