After heavy snowfall in Murree and Galiat, tourists, families and children were trapped in vehicles due to worst traffic jams on various roads.
Several vehicles got stuck in the worst traffic jam on Murree Expressway and Lower Topa to Sahar Bagla highway after snowfall of up to one and a half feet in Murree and Guliyat.
Tourists stuck in traffic jam for several hours during heavy snowfall appealed for emergency measures on Murree Expressway and Srinagar Highway.
The spokesperson of PDMA says that rain and snowfall will continue in Murree today, it is the responsibility of the administration to provide facilities to tourists.
DC Islamabad says that the entry of more tourists from 17 miles to Murree has also been closed.
On the other hand, heavy rains with strong winds and thunderstorms have increased the severity of cold in many areas of Punjab including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujarat, Jhelum and Mandi Bahauddin.
Various communication roads were closed due to rain and snowfall in different areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain in Islamabad, Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir and snowfall on mountains.
