The names of 2 accused are included in the reference filed by NAB Rawalpindi.
NAB Prosecutor Sohail Arif filed the reference along with the investigating officer and the case.
On the other hand, PTI founder Imran Khan challenged the entire proceedings of the cipher case including the indictment in the Islamabad High Court.
He took a position in the petition that the proceedings of the cipher case so far should be declared illegal and null and void and I should be discharged from the case. Contrary to the requirements of justice, on December 12, the trial court rejected our petition in the cipher case.
The petition contends that the trial court judge did not correctly interpret the word "complaint" in Section 13 (2)(3) of the Official Secrets Act, whereas the interpretation of the word "complaint" is clear in the law.
He said that the cipher case against me is being conducted on the basis of FIR and police report, the Official Secrets Act is a special law which is different from the general law. Adoption is essential.
