Minister of Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed said in the meeting along with Minister of Information Technology Umar Saif that a live mobile app will be developed for the convenience of pilgrims in which all details and tracking will be possible.



In the meeting, it was agreed to improve and reform the Hajj IT system with the help of the Ministry of Information Technology to provide better facilities to the pilgrims and speed up the grievance redressal system.


Punjab IT Board, National IT Board and Additional Secretary of Ministry of Religious Affairs, Joint Secretary Hajj and representatives of Hajj IT Cell participated in the meeting.


Religious Affairs Minister Aneeq Ahmed said that he wants to make the Hajj operation completely digitalized and end-to-end paperless. A live mobile app will be developed for the convenience of all pilgrims in which all details and tracking will be possible. A computerized system will be created for the movement of Hajj and the financial system in Saudi Arabia. The management information system of the private Hajj group will be made more functional.


Information Technology Minister Omar Sy assured that the Ministry of IT will provide its full support for the betterment of Hajj. He said that the National IT Board will give suggestions for improvement after a detailed analysis of the current Hajj Information System. The Ministry of Hajj will deploy a team of experts in religious affairs to integrate the Hajj information system. The Steering Committee of NITB and PITB will ensure progress on system development. Weekly meetings will be held in the Ministry of IT on the progress of the new Hajj Information System.
