Kuwait's official media confirmed the death of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The Kuwaiti Emir was admitted to the hospital last month due to illness, but nothing has been said about his health since then.
Kuwait has implemented a new law for foreigners
According to the official media, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah visited the United States in March 2021 for treatment of an unexplained illness.
Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah became the Emir of Kuwait after the death of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in 2020. Before becoming the Emir, he also held the positions of Minister of Interior and Minister of Defense of Kuwait.
